Most of these flowers grown in greenhouses are used for flower delivery around the world.
What grows in a greenhouse and what grows outside depends on your climate and the purpose of your greenhouse. The National Orchid Garden in
Singapore has an air conditioned greenhouse for mountain orchids and other cool weather orchids that would not survive in this tropical
climate. All those orchids we greenhouse in the North were planted in the ground and some as big as trees! In southern Florida, screen rooms
are more common than greenhouses to protect the plants from the hot sun, insects and birds.
In cold climates, greenhouses typically protect plants from frost or freeze. - The plants featured here are a few that we've
grown successfully and are listed in Alphabetical order. (This list has just been planted and should grow with time - if you want to add a plant, please send picture to Joe jozeeben@netdoor.com )
Sunset National Garden Book is a must have reference for US and Canada. More than
6000 plant listing, 2,500 photos / illustrations and growing instruction.
